Default Possible speaker and head light problems?

I got my ES 350 delivered on Wednesday of last week. So I had my for less than a week now. Well, my concern is whether my problems are 'real problems.' I noticed yesterday that the speaker in the way back (the long speaker) was not producing any sound. I tried configuring the different sound functions, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I believe it is supposed to be an operating speaker since the car is installed with 8-speakers. So, I'm just wondering if indeed that speaker is suppose to make sounds or it's just some sort of 'show.'

Another problem I've encountered is with the headlights. I've noticed that the headlights are always on when I start my engine. I turn it off but the main headlights are still on during the day. The only time it totally turns off is when I've turned on the lights, turned the engine off, and turned the lights off. But once I start my engine again the lights come back on. Is this normal?

I think the back speaker you're concerned about is the sub woofer, and you'll only hear it when the music playing has low frequencies.

Your car has daylight running lights that go on automatically when you have your ignition on. There are no switches to turn them off.......it's a safety feature. If it really bothers you, you can go to your Lexus dealer to have them disabled.....but I don't suggest doing that.

Oh thanks amf. I actually tested the speakers out with something with less bass and I was able to hear sounds, just not as loud as the other speakers. As for the headlights, it doesn't bother me, just thought it might've been some kind of problem. Well, thanks again for clearing that out.

Bliss...

I keep my lights on auto.

They will stay on briefly after you exit and lock the car at night, but if you want them to go out sooner just hit the lock button on key FOB and they will go out.

On auto, at dusk it may surprise you they come on early if it is real cloudy or rainy.

Or you can have the dealer change a personalized setting to turn the headlights off immediately upon opening a door.
