just wondering if theres some custom setting codes on this model. like for example, i hate the passenger/ driving seat belt light always blinking when the belt isnt on. beats the hell out of the buzzer on newer models, but is there a way to disable that?

If the light is flashing while no one is sitting in the seat, then there may be a problem with the weight sensor in the seat.
However, I did see this on LOC for the current IS. Try it on your ES.
Here is an example to turn off the seat belt warning:
1. turn the key to the ON position (press Start 2 times), foot off the brake
2. cycle the odometer with the trip reset button until the ODO is displayed (not trip A or B )
3. turn the ignition to the LOCK (OFF) position
4. unbuckle the driver's seatbelt if it was buckled.
5. turn the key to the ON position (Press Start 2 times). when the dash lights have come on, press and hold the trip reset button and count a slow 12 seconds. (editor's note, hold it more like 30 sec)
6. while still holding the trip reset button, buckle the driver's side seatbelt.
7. the odometer display should read "b ON" or "b OFF". toggle the beep OFF with the trip reset.
8. the process should be completed when you unbuckle or turn the key off

I have a Lexus ES330 2006. Does your procedure work on my car? I want to turn the seat belt buzzer back on (the previous owner shut it up).

I wonder of that buzzer was enabled by default.. In my 2000 Lexus ES300 it was never there in the first place.
To try and enable it, you will probably have three options - you can try the procedure described above and see if it works for you, visiting the dealership, or investing in a MiniVCI cable. If the first method won't work, I would suggest visiting the dealership and asking them if it is even doable, and how much is going to be. The price is important, since you can obtain a tool with the same basic functionality as they will be using for around $40-70. Granted, it is a bit more hassle, but that tool has many more other uses to it.
Hope this helps and best of luck!

Thank you Sir for all the helpful advice. I tried the first method yesterday, but in the step 5, I read on the other sites other than this and just counted only 10 seconds. Now I will try 30 seconds. I asked somebody on Youtube, and he said maybe the fuse box on the driver side was the cause. I looked at the fuse box diagram, no fuse was said to have the function of enabling/disabling the seat belt chime only, so I'm pretty sure the fuse isn't the problem. I will invest in the MiniVCI if the first doesn't work. I just want my car to be as much original manufacturing as possible.

To my knowledge, there is no fuse that affects specific chimes in the car. Before investing in MiniVCI cable, call-up the dealer and make sure that this function was there in the first place, and if it is possible to turn it back on, that will prevent unnecessary expenses. Also, there are a couple of different cables to choose from, please refer to this post for more information.Originally Posted by ES330drive
