Default Navigation System Problem

This is my second Lexus with a NAV system. Originally on my first car I was able to program in this new address with absolutely no problems. This time I tried programming in the same address on the ES350 Nav, but a message comes up that there is no listing for the address. The funny thing is, the address is for a house that was built around the turn of the century. Any ideas why this navigation unit is rejecting the information I want to enter?

Did you talk to it nicely?

Maybe it's angry at you for some reason.

lol

Seriously though, these nav systems can be weird that way. Even if it doesn't recognize the actual address, it it's on the right street in the right town, you're as good as there.

OK......I went out to my car and threatened the girl that announces the directions in the NAV. I told her if she doesn't accept the address I put in I'll take the car to Lexus service and have them play around with her innards. Would you believe I then tried it again, and it now programmed without any problems!! I guess sometimes you have to be mean to her.

Did you threaten to have her parts replaced with BMW electronics I've had similar problems but usually get around it and program it
