Unhappy Transmission problem

Yesterday took in my 2007 ES350 (4,000mi) with a shifting problem. Around 30mph, light acceleration, upshifting, it comes out of gear, doesn't immediately engage in next gear, rpm revs from around 2,000 to over 3,000, then engages. Technician duplicated problem and described it as "slipping into 3rd gear". Problem has developed over last 2 weeks and is getting worse. Before addressing the problem with this new transmission design, they are waiting for Toyota Technical to call them back with advice,

Anyone else seen or heard of this problem, and/or any advice?

Welcome to Club Lexus. A few owners have experienced transmission problems with their new ES-350 and Lexus has been very good about responding to the issue (according to those who experienced it).

A search of "transmission" here in the forum will show you the results. It might be good to keep posts within that thread and not post further here in this one so that we can all get to the bottom of this.

See ES350 Recall? (are ES350's impacted by the Camry tranny issue)

Default sounds like

sounds like the tranny issue occurs within the 1st 6 months of ownership. I have read several complaints about the ES350 tranny even tho they are built in Japan and not in Kentucky. Has anyone ever received an exchange as a result of the problem?

Yes. But once again, I recommend posting to the linked I provided above.
