two issues, 96 lex..
this one goes from little or no vibration to constant rough vibration to a rough pulsing vibration, depending on what it feels like doing. It happens when i am in "D" and have stopped at a red light. It just starts vibrating when i reach a low enough RPM and my foot is on the brake. It also vibrates (more) when the engine is cold and the RPM's are 1,000 at full stop, but i think thats expected.
#2 when i start the car up from a semi-warm engine, it makes the weirdest noise. it sounds like someone is gargling with mouthwash in the backseat. at first i thought it was a helicopter flying far away, but i didnt see any the first or second or third time and so on lol. This noise is kinda subtle, the radio has to be off to hear it, and goes away after about 5-10 seconds. i can't see a pattern for it, it sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't. it's been getting a little worse every time it happens though.
anyway if anyone has any thoughts, expect "go to a mechanic", let me know; i'm going in a week. i'll seafoam the engine before i go because ive been meaning to do it anyway so maybe it will help with the vibration.
EDIT: 96 es300 128,000 miles bought at 119,000
2) Could be a lot of stuff, but I would look at the EVAP, the fuel pump/lines & the fill tube. Not too big a deal to get to look into the fuel tank. Pull the rear seat out & you're staring the fuel pump assembly in the face. It generally just unbolts & lifts out.
Obviously... You don't want to take a smoke break during the process.
j/k
