1) Drain the oil pan after the light comes on to determine how much oil is in the engine. Expect only about a cup of oil to stay in the heads & the rest to drain back out.
2) Replace the oil level sensor/check wiring & harness.
Yellow oil level light.
Red low oil pressure.
If you ever see the red light of death on a Toyota engine, know that the oil pressure sensors (And gauges, if you ever driving something with a real gauge) are ****. Drop it to neutral & check the oil level immediately. Even if the light goes off, that does NOT mean correct oil pressure is back. The oil pump can easily pressurize air to fool the oil pressure sensor.
