Default I need help asap

I was having transmisson problems on a trop before so I decided to change the fluid. It seemed to improve so I got a tranny flush. It worked fine on the way back home yesterday (45 mile trip) but on the way to Walmart it started slipping again. I took 6,000 rpms to get it to change gears. Please tell me it isn't the torque converter or I need a tranny rebuil, those two things are way out of my funds.

Here is more info on a previous thread

Thanks!

Cool

I would think rebuild the transmission / low line pressure. Could be a wheel speed sensor, or a shift solenoid going crazy. Tho that type of problem will throw a flashing O/D light (stored code).
Check the line pressure & make sure it's high enough. Tighten the kick-down cable a bit more to try and get more pressure.

k thanks, do you mind giving all that you know on doing a manual tranny swap; i.e. the type of transmissions compatible including all wheel drive platforms. things needed to convert, things needed to toss. thanks

Sorry to hear the flush didn't do the trick
IMHO, when having a costly and complicated job done, it is worth considering which shop will ABSOLUTELY , POSITIVELY stand behind it's work. Talk to your dealership service dept. They may be able to recommend some creative solutions. I remember you saying that you found finger tight bolts from the last service you had on your tranny. Definitely stay away from those guys. Good luck and keep us posted...
