Default steering wheels

Steering wheels I notice have been coming up alot in discussion. The steering wheel on my car is starting to look bad, I wouldnt even try to take it apart cuz of the airbag. So my question is, are there any remedies besides replacing the steering wheel. can it be re-wrapped without taking it off/?

Have you taken a look at this thread here? A member with a '92 ES succesfully did it himself. If a steering wheel is definitely worn out, then you pretty much have no choice but to either replace it or have it re-stitched like from American Stitches. Good luck.
