Fog lights switch Mod
sorry to bother but i can't seem to find the Fog light relay. I opened the coin slot and inside, there are two small black plugs. One is horizontal and the other is vertical. I felt the vertical plug when i switch the fog light on and off, so i pull it out. But it doesn't look like what is in the picture, my only have 2 silver pins. I don't see any golden pins. I have 00' ES300. Thx
For the relay you can tie it to any part using wire, tape, etc. Check BanabaGS pictures on how he do it. I am sorry I don't have pic of my setup now but will try to update pics.
i got quick question for you man..i did the fog mod and it worked and i liked it alot but when i was driving i just randomly thought of checking the relay if its ok..so then i did and when i touched it, it was kinda hot..it was hot but not hot to where it would melt down u know what i mean?? so i put it back to stock set up and so tomorrow when i drive it i will feel for it and see if the hotness is similar when i had the mod set up...so is the realy suppose to get hot like that?? is it normal or ok for it to be hot?? im afraid it might melt the socket...let me know ASAP..thanks in advance..
p.s.
i didnt do the jump wire from relay to socket..i simply just bend out pin 1 and attached a wire that runs from pin 1 to the cig lighter fuse..i have the same set up on my IS300 and up to now its working fine..the ony thing is that i never check the relay on my IS if it ever gets hot like my ES...coz ES easier to check coz its not covered unlike the IS..
p.s.

I recommend to always make good connections. Tape is not enough for the long run, it may get loose with time. So either use connectors or welding when possible.
