On my 1994 ES300, you need to flip the molex connector underneath the hood near the driver's side. Then you turn on the power to the car and the wipers will just move up. The wires did feel a bit fragile the first time I did it in May. Seems that the previous owners didn't do that when they wanted to lift up the wipers results on the paint in the wiper region scratched off.

Nice summer/winter tip though. I didn't know that. It'd be better during winter to have it up all the time as snow would collect there and if it were down, it would cause unnessary stress to the wiper, or the wiper may not even move because of all the weight.

Thanks I found it on page 40 and 41 of my owners manual. Guess I didn't read through the 1st time I stopped after 1st few pages of section 6. That's lot of force to pull 22 lbf.
