I crashed my car and the driver's side (left) headlight, bumper cover, impact energy absorber (foam), bumper reinforcement beam, and the bumper mount rail end (seen in the photos) is damaged. I was wondering if it's worth to fix the bent part (see the photos) out of pocket or just think of other alternatives. Local body shop said they will cut the side member of the frame and weld a new one (they will cut the new frame and weld it to the old side member so they don't have to do something way more invasive). They are yet to give me an estimate for it. How much could I be looking at? I could supply the parts so the body shop would be just cutting and welding.
Also, I was wondering if I could just straighten it out without using any new parts. I know it's safety would be somewhat compromised but I'm still thinking if that would be a cost effective measure.
Any comments/questions/discussions are welcome. Thank you.
