Just got an alignment done on my es 300 two months ago, and they checked it Saturday, and it’s still good. I’m getting new tires tomorrow: do I need another alignment?

Also, will a tire place grease wheel bearings or if not, is that easy to do? Or who does it normally?

If the alignment checks out, there is no reason to make it again, it's already the way it's supposed to be, unless you drove into an open hatch or a curb right after the check on Saturday.

As for the wheel bearings, those are not serviceable as far as I am aware, not easily at least, it's not part of the maintenance for those cars anymore.

An alignment is trued to the wheels, not the tires. Tires won’t change an alignment.

The front wheel bearings are sealed units; no maintenance. Not like the old two-piece open tapered bearings you may be thinking of.

 

I used to believe this, but tires do affect the alignment process. If you take a car for an alignment with bad tires the vehicle will sit on the alignment rack skewed due to worn/old tires. It will track straight after the alignment but if you put new tires on alignment could be out. I talked about this with an alignment tech he said if at all possible have tires in good condition or you could end up doing another alignment shortly.

 

Hmm - that makes sense. A really bad tire could throw it out - like a cracked belt, etc.
