This is what happens when you have a little too much free time over the winter.
I love my car, I just wish it had a nice place for glasses like my other cars. I also thought the sliding tray in the center console was a bit small to be useful.
I grabbed a little maple and made one I thought would be a little more useful without being too large. I kept the front edge a little higher in case I plug anything in the ports in the console.
A little bit of paint, felt, and a stained wood top edge and I'm done. It slides nicely and pulls out just like the original plastic tray. I will probably sand the stain off to match the steering wheel, but this is the only color I had at the time.

 

Nice, but I just stick my sunglasses into the cupholder...
