Default 92/93 es300 5 speed vs new es330

Whats up everybody. I know the new es is supposed to be faster but how about against say a 93 es300 with a five speed. I've tested my car numerous times with a g-tech accelerometer and my best 0 to 60 was 7.01 and my worse time was a 7.3 sec. I think it would be a good race what do you guys think?

7.01 is pretty quick. I think you can give a new ES330 a good run for the money, maybe beat it.

well todd50, since you advanced your timing, you have a chance.... but a regular manual ES will not win

I think the 5 spd will kick its ***.
As the new ES will still be trying to figure out a gear with its computer controlled throttle and tranny it will be left behind .

I agree! Driving a stick properly will always get the best acceleration out of a car because you can shift it out of each gear where the car develops it's peak HP.

I think the 330 would probably pull on the old 5 speed a little bit. But I know for sure that an 02 es would get walked by any 1st gen ES. The new body style 300 can't get out of its own way lol.

I only have 275 miles on the ES 330 but had to get on the throttle a little today to merge on to a freeway with a very short on ramp. The transmission shifts are really "timed" nicely and it pulls quite well in each gear, even though it wasn't floored. My neighbor has a 2003 ES 300 and was telling me his 1999 ES has more power. It may be the difference in the computer controlled shifts rather than a difference in horsepower.

Default Just raced an ES300

of the previous body style and smoked him by a respectable margin with my ES330 today. We raced on a flat Expressway at a red light in Sacramento, and I'll never do that again as we passed a CHP going the opposite direction. It sounded like the guy did some mods to his car that may have hindered his performance a bit. Now my co-workers 5 Series dusted me until something malfunctioned on his car. Another co-workers G-35 left us both in the dust. Time to fork out some $ to have some serious stickers added to boost another 5hp. hehe!
