01 ES300 Alternator compatibility with 99 Camry V6
Hi everyone, looks like my alternator on my 2001 ES300 is on its way out and I'm looking to replacement with a fresh re-manufactured Denso one.
I was searching through the forums not too long ago and saw a thread with someone mentioning that you can replace a 2001 ES300 80amp alternator with a 1999 Camry V6 90amp alternator. I'm not running anything special on the car other than a non-factory Kenwood excelon head unit, but my car does have factory HIDs if that matters, so I thought having that additional 10amps would provide some relief on the alternator since it would on a lighter load due to its higher max capacity.
I compared the two using their pictures on Rockauto and seems like they have identical shells and mounting brackets, and it looks like it should not run into any mounting issues.
Does anyone know if this will work 100% fine with no issues with mounting or wiring/fuse changes needed? (I know it's only a 10amp difference but it doesn't hurt to ask I suppose)
Any other recommendations? I know some people suggested using a Highlander or RX300 100/130amp alternator but I looked at the photos and it seems they are quite a bit different, but I'm not sure if it is simply visual with no mounting issues.
Thanks!

Get the 100amp or 130amp Highlander alternator instead it is a direct fit.

Hmm, I took a look at the 100amp alternator from a highlander here (rotated slightly differently in the picture), however it did not seem to match bracket wise (seems like some small visual differences), however the 90amp 99 Camry V6 alternator here is identical to the 01 ES300 alternator here.
I guess the Highlander alternator looks slightly visually different but is a direct fit anyway?

I have the 130amp Highlander alternator in my ES300 it fits no issues. I will say that technically I should upgrade the wiring and fuse, although I'm not sure I can get the car to draw more than 80amps.
