Question 97 ES Stereo removal Question

I can't, for the LIFE of me, remove the factory stereo on my '97 ES 300.
I've read every posting I can find with serveral seaches and none cover my version of a dash.

I have attached my picture to show my progress, can anyone offer the missing link?

Removed the vents at the top. no Screws of clips withing sight/touch.
the 2 10mm bolts at the bottom came out easily enough, but I can't move the stereo, it seems to be secured at the top.

reason for the change:
I am installing a Delphi Skyfi unit with an FM modulator as the interface to the factory unit. Worked great in my Subaru... hoping for the same here. Considering XM Radio (xmradio) ????
It rocks. If you listen to any radio in the car, this is the way to go.
Delphi's unit is too cool. You can move it from home to car to office, one subscription price for the entire unit.

Thanks for any help you can offer - this Forum Rocks - the sight rocks. Thanks for all the work you do.

I think this might help: my Radio Removal Guide for my 2000 ES300,

Click for guide

You seem to have the same radio setup. Check page 5 to 8 for the section you need.

The wiring info in the guide has been updated to this document:

Click for schematic

LexDiamond: I'm putting in the FM Modulator to interface/integrate a Delphi SkyFi XMRadio.

Tom,

This PDF ROCKS!!!!!
This appears to cover my system perfectly - you did a fantastic job of documenting the work, both written and in pic. form.

you should write for Chilton's or someone.

That's the Ultimate Radio removal posting, without a doubt.

Thank you.

since you are roving the stock radio, can you do me a favor? if you cut power, like when you change batteries, does this kill the radio until you re-enter the code? Could you do a quick check to see if that happens?

I've killed the power to my radio more times than I wanted to. I have the famous "park it 3 days and the battery is dead" problem. I'm on my 2nd battery. The radio always turns back on.
