04 ES330 trans acting up
I've owned this car for years, bought it at around 140k miles and the trans has been acting strange since. It shifts sudden sometimes and other times it can shift slowly. Right now the car has 191k miles and I had changed the trans fluid and filter like 4 times. Been 2 years since I last changed the trans fluid, but I'm pretty sure it was cherry red. BTW the trans hasn't changed in how it acts from 140k to 191k miles. There are no codes or lights on the dash, and my ODB2 scanner shows nothing. Also called my local Lexus dealer and no recalls for the car. I know that on some cars an old MAF sensor can cause the trans to act up, but I don't know if that's the case with this car. Again, no codes. Is it a bad trans solenoid like the PCS?
Wanna check with you guys to see if there's a common symptom with my car. Any help would be great.

This is the only real complaint with this transmission; the PCM programming and DBW throttle make for herk-and-jerk, mostly in stop and go traffic.
If it does feel unduly harsh at some times, open your hood and watch the engine cover as someone else revs it a little. It should be rock-steady. If not, look at your upper strut mount (aka "dog bone mount") and check out the two side mounts behind each wheel on the frame. These all do break and then exacerbate things. I would expect at 191k, even with lots of highway miles, one or more of those to be broken. Fortunately the front engine mount usually does not break, it is more complicated and more difficult to replace (the to strut and side ones are very easy). The root of the mount problem is there is no rear mount on these like on the prior generation (only three lower mounts vs. four). The problem with that doesn't show up until out of warranty, so apparently no real problem for Toyota to delete it!
