99 ES300 cooling fans problem
I need some help to diagnose why both cooling fans are not working ,the coolant was overheating the other day and found out both cooling fans weren't working,so far I tested both fans and relays, they are good, have few questions here:
1. I'm trying to use the A/C fan as a temporary cooling solution but when a/c is on ( I can hear a/c compressor kick in).but the a/c fan doesn't come on , fan should come on regardless A/c working or not ,is that right ?
2.I tested the coolant tem sensor by shorting it with a paper clip is that the right way?
3. Do 99 es300s has a a/c fuse? the fuse box cover clearly labeled one but I look into the slot there isn't a fuse and no metal thing there to hold a fuse.

Start by checking your fans. Unplug them and connect them up to your battery and see if they turn on. If they don't its either the wiring or fan motor needs to be replaced.
Next check your relays. There is a Fan No.1, Fan No.2, Fan No.3 relay under the hood.
The relay to your A.C. is labeled as MLG CLT I believe. Stands for magnetic clutch.
edit:
Sorry I completely looked over an important sentence in your post. Didn't realize you tested the fans already.

Disconnect the thermo fan switch at the passenger side bottom of the radiator with the car running. Since you said both fans are good, if they turn on when you disconnect that switch, the switch is bad. It opens when the temp in the lower radiator tank is high enough, turning on the fans.
