Default AC question

It's finally summer in Minnesota! I turned on the AC in our '02 ES300. All was well at first until the "AC" light started blinking and the air flow turned warmer. Our neighborhood mechanic thought that it was a relay failing and he suggested switching the AC relay with the horn relay since they're the same. Does this sound reasonable?

It could be a bad relay, for testing purposes they are interchangeable.

Copy the replacement p/n in post #8 in that link above, and search on it on Ebay. You can get a replacement relay very cheaply.

Thanks again guys, I've ordered the correct relay from Rockauto and should be on my way.

Years ago I had a problem with my AC. It would work great and then after using it for 30 - 45 min and then the AC would blow warm air. Couldn't figure it out until I had the dealership take a look at it. After several days of them saying it was okay, they found a valve in the system wasn't properly working and would freeze shut causing the system to shut down circulating cool air. Replaced the valve and it worked great. Sorry at the time I didn't pay attention to what the valve location or what its called.

if its not the relay it might be the same issue I had.
