New Daily Driver -- 2000 Lexus ES 300 Platinum Edition
Bought the car today.
One owner 2000 Lexus ES 300 Platinum Series. Silver and graphite two-tone body with black leather and wood interior. Car has Nakamichi, wood wheel, leather is immaculate, and shows just a few cosmetic blemishes on the exterior. Nice car... Timing belt and water pump was done at 87k, so I'll have that done in the next week or so as it's probably time, but that's a simple job and cheap as labor is free.
First thing to address is the lighting. All the lamps work except the fogs. Hoping they just need bulbs, but who knows. I'd like to go with a yellow fog, but I've been out of the auto lighting game for several years and have no idea what the best options are for bulbs. Assuming LEDs, but any help is appreciated.
Second. Wheels. The factory wheels on the car are okay, but I'd like to get a factory look in a 17"+ wheel. I see several ES vehicles here with newer factory wheels, but I'm looking for that one thread that has a lot of pictures. Also, any issues with rubbing / wheel spacers needed / anything I should know before going bigger?
Lastly, window tint. Haven't tinted a vehicle since my 2000 Platinum Series GS several years ago. That car was black on black so it was obvious, but this car is silver and I'm thinking about going with the more luxurious reflective tint over just going with the 20% black. Any thoughts / opinions on the tint are welcomed.
Everything else works. Really fortunate to have found this car as the market in the Metro Atlanta area is impossibly tough...
Pics coming tomorrow when the sun graces us with its presence again. Looking forward to being here a while. Going to keep this car until the end.
