Question Is this a good gas mileage to your standards?

I went on a trip today. The trip was about 600 km!! I have already drive about 50 km inside the city when i filled the tank and whatever was left in the tank lasted me for entire 600 km trip!! So that makes it 650 km/full tank? Now has anyone got similar situation like I did? (so this is approx. 405 miles/tank)
Just thought I'd share and see what you guys usually get! This is 99 ES

650 km (or 405 miles) on one tank is not bad from my standpoint. If I put in approximately 80% highway driving under one tank, I can easily get 420 miles before feeling the need to fill up.

The fuel economy for the ES hasn't really changed that much between 20/29 (for the '92-'96, '00 and '02) and 19/26 (for the '97-'99 and '01). In any case, the ES has the best fuel mileage out of all Lexus

your tank must have been almost bone dry. You failed to note the quantity of gas you pumped back in the tank to fill it back up. This will help in your calculations of how much gas was actually consumed during you trip.

My 02 has an 18.5 gallon tank (70 L). When I fill it to first pump shut off, the multi-information display shows 330-310 miles. When it is time to fill again (dispaly now reading 0-50 miles) it take about 15 gallons to fill it back up. The actual mileage driven is abound 320-350 mi. This tells me there is about a 3-4 gallon reserve when the display says 0 and the gas light comes on (my guess 75-100 miles to go before I'm dead in the road without fuel).

I would say you assumptions are pretty close.

oh yeah, when i filled it up again, I put 58 Litres in it!
My mom was really impressed by the numbers cuz when we had the van and used the van for the same trip, that van consumed ALOT of gas! That car was such a waste, thank god its gone now

Cool

Don't rang vans... The A-Team rode in a van, and it would eat any Lexus alive LoL!
