Pretty sure my Lexus is possessed.
Bear with me it's going to be a long one.
First signs of problems, car wouldn't stay running. Seemed like a transmission problem. Figured out a good portion of the wiring harness fried. Well we got that replaced.
Then it would have temperature problems. Too hot? Won't start. Too cold? Won't start. If it was hot once you got it running it seemed to be in "limp mode" for a while. Eventually it would pick up after about 10 minutes and work fine.
While coming back from a trip it just randomly died. took a while to start back up and once it did, it would not come out of "limp mode".
Now it starts but when you give it gas it cuts out and stutters.
Fiance thought it maybe the cat so he cut the damn thing off. Didn't work.
Then it was the MAF sensor. Hey so we can go about 40 MPH instead of 30.
then the Crank sensor. No change.
Fuel pump and filter didn't change anything either.
I looked at the TCM and it looks pristine, no broken/burned connections.
I do not have the adapter needed to hook up a scanner to the port so we are kinda shooting in the dark here.
Something we found interesting. The fuel relay is not present but the fuel pump still does it's job.
I have the nagging feeling that it's something simple we overlooked. Or maybe that's just hope we don't have bigger problems.
Help!?
