Default Poor turning radius?

this is my first ES, however, I feel like my 97 ES300 has the worst turning radius from all vehicles I have driven (Ive driven my fair share). There are some u-turns I simply can't make. ****, I missed my driveway a few times when I first got the car and had to do a 3-point turn.

I always thought this was nature of the beast, but I feel like my ES in particular is an exception. Perhaps my tires are oversized? I dont hear rubbing though, the steering wheel just locks.

What can I look in to, or is this how the car is? If so, thats a bit of a bummer and I hope turning radius improved over the years because I would like to find myself in a 2000+ some day....

I got my ES like a month ago. And that was the first thing I noticed right away.

The LS looks like it's 2 ES's fitted in one car, behemoth of a car, but it actually has better turning radius than the ES.
I guess the steering rack was just designed short and therefore you could only turn so much.

But yeah, when you're about to park in a tight space, don't just wing it, take your time..

I guess FWD cars in general have a larger turning radius because they've got the drive hardware upfront (namely the CV shafts) that don't allow the wheel to turn as much.

No - larger - the circle is bigger, thus the radius is larger.

I agree - my '08 Taco can turn around in 1.5 lanes! Of course, it is RWD.
