Wink New direction

I had posted earlier that my daughter was wanting a Lexus for college but now she wants to save her money so I 'm going to give her one of our cars and buy myself a Lexus. lol

I'm down to deciding between the GS, ES and IS in the years 2002-2007

If you had the choice which one would you get?

I'm 63 so I bought an ES but, sense your daughter is just now heading of to college your probably still young enough for something a little more sporty.

I traded my 2010 Honda Accord with 53k for a 2006 ES330 with 18k back in April of this year and I have not regretted the decision one bit!

What do you want out of the car? They are all quite different.

For all 3, I'd go for the later models, for an IS, I'd go IS350, cause they are pretty damn fast, for a sporty dd, GS is pretty nice, and for an overall DD, I'd go for the ES

Its really up to you to get what you want lol

I want a dependable car with as little cabin noise as possible.

no i mean newer, i'd go for es330, is250 (250 for mpg, but it feels way underpowered compared to the is350) or an LS
as far as mpg goes.. the earlier (older) es300's tend to be a bit nosier because of the windows being pillarless, the IS300, before the 250, well its a sports car, and man does it eat alot of gas

Agreed, windows with frames are the way to go for wind noise concerns.

I bought my son a 2004 es330 a month ago and it is the smoothest and quietest vehicle I have ever driven, especially given the age. Truly a master creation.....

So if I could find an affordable ES350 would it be better than the ES330?

I would test both to see which one I liked better, it's all very subjective and you can't really go wrong with either.

2005-06 ES330. Quiet, smooth, reliable, and cheap maintenance compared to the IS or GS.

Your next step would be the GS if you need more room and a bit more fun with RWD. I wouldn't even consider the IS.
