I got the moog problem solver units. They are around $30 each but have flats for wrenches and zerk fittings for lubrication so I thought it was worth it.

I've got a bad rear stabilizer link on my ES330 and was wondering how these stab links with the zerk fittings for lube work out. Do you have to consistently lube them? The OEM ones are sealed.
I'm asking because I replaced a ball joint with a MOOG on my Solara last year and I had to grease the ball joint. I got a lot of responses saying I should have used a sealed unit just like the OEM and not worry with greasable units.

I have not yet had to grease them but I like the option to do so. Also, the flats are nice for when you have to remove then as I did this morning. I think I will grease them before reinstalling in the car, I just need to order new sway bar brackets first as mine sheared in two.

Bringing this back alive as I haven't done it yet and it's coming to the point where I really need to.
i was reading that the TEMS system mounts are different from the non TEMS. I was told that the strut mounts will also need to be swapped in order to put some KYB Excel G struts.
Can I just remove the adjustable strut and replace it with a non adjustable strut and call it a day?
I wanted to confirm on here as to what you guys have done to get some ideas....
thanks.

On the previous generation ES you can replace the TEMS struts with regular units (or even go the other way) everything bolts right up. I bet your car is the same.

Is there any confirmation? I read that also that they just bolt up. I'm just trying to avoid getting a set and then worry about returning it especially if I get it online.

I don't have the car so can't confirm, is the upper strut mount part the strut or does it bolt into the same mount as the non-TEMS strut? A picture would help but you'll have to remove the protective cover. FYI the strut mounts don't have multiple/different part numbers for the TEMS struts.

Struts have different part numbers obviously but I don't see different numbers for the upper mounts only one number per side/location. You can quickly verify this by removing one of the caps from the front strut.

Update on non TEMS swap!
Well it works! If you have AVS/TEMS and a 4th gen ES, You can change them.
I updated mine to KYB excel struts. Kept the original springs and it works great!. Feels like a new car again.
No lights in dash board.
So upgrade away!

Did you have to change the mounts? I am glad you posted your results as my retired parents are looking at this problem right now. They live in a cold climate and need their traction control and ABS. But at $4000 to fix the suspension my advice is to sell the car and buy a new one because it just isn't worth it. Can you list all the parts you had to buy to do the swap properly?
Thanks,
Erik

That is exactly what I plan on doing with mine when the time comes. I may renew my springs if I have extra money. They are usually pretty inexpensive, but it seems a waste to replace springs on a car with under say, 250,000 miles.
