Default ac light blinking

My ac light is blinking and blowing hot most of the time. When the ac does work it only works for about 5-10 minutes, then strats blowing hot air. Dealership says that the compressor is locking up and wants over $1100 to fix. Can anyone help me find if this is true or not? Thanks, Lou

Welcome to Club Lexus!

According to your profile your ES is a 2002. In which case, you likely need to replace the magnetic clutch relay with the updated part.

There's more info. in this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es3...t-working.html

Look at post #10.

In the future, please use the search function first. And, if you can't find what you are looking for, feel free to post a thread.

Well, I popped the fuse/relay cover off and the Relay that is that spot "G" is # 90080-87026, not the one that he says is suppose to be in there, also there is no relay with the part number of # 90987-02028 any where in the box. So now what do I do?

Assuming that you identified the right relay, try Sewwel Lexus online parts.

http://lexus.sewellparts.com/

Type in the year and model number of your car and find the AC relay. It will list the right part number for your Car

Also do a google search on the part number that you have and see what comes up.
