2007 es300 wheels on my 2000 es300
Hello all I'm looking at getting wheels from an 2007 es300 for my 2000 es300 and was wondering if these will fit fine with no modifications? TIA

My suggestion: If you're going to buy new tires (which you'll need to do going from 16s to 17s) you might want to step up to 18s. The ride is about the same (very smooth, low vibration) on a softly sprung vehicle like the ES and you'll appreciate the difference in appearance. Either way, you'll like the upgrade!

I appreciate the advice and LOVE the look of the G35 18" wheels on my car. BUT I have or hope I still have the opportunity to get the 17" Lexus es300 wheels from 07 for $350... I feel that's kind of hard to turn down especially because my wheels finish is looking dreadful.

I look through several pages of the Official ES300 wheel thread and didn't see what the short answer is with what size wheels fit on the stock suspension / ride height... it seems like 18X8 is safe with no worry of rubbing on bumps or anything.. is this true?

The ES should have anything wider than a 225mm tire people have run 235's but say they rub. On 8" or larger rim you are going to start to see some stretching with the 225's (some like the look some don't)
Here is your best bet for tires to make the 18" fit... although tire stores all over town are telling me different sizes they are all within these ranges. You are usually safe to go about +/- 5mm on any size width or height.
205/65-15 = width/height-rim size, width and height are in mm, rim is inches
25.4 mm in an inch for you reference
15" Wheel = 205/65-15
16" Wheel = 205/60-16
17" Wheel = 215/50-17
18" Wheel = 225/40-18 or 215/45-18
19" Wheel = 225/35-19 (not suggested)
20" Wheel = 225/30-20 “Elbows up side to side” (google it)
I wouldn't exceed 235 wide, you will start to get some serious rubbing on the es300

You should keep wheel offset in mind just width isn't enough. for example a 18x8 in a RWD style offset like say 20mm is probably not going to fit. Stock offset is 45mm I believe. when you go up in width you have to consider how much width you are adding to the inside (strut clearance) and outside (fender edge)
Due to the way the specs work, 18x8 at a stock offset is not what you want, unfortunately its a bit more complicated. This calculator is a lot of help: http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator

Wow. Yeah there's a lot to this... I really think I'm going to stick with 17x7's.... no worry. no rub. still looks great. I liked the look of the G35 wheel on my car but they do look a little too big and I don't want to have to mess around with SUPER low profile tires and worrying about rub.
Thanks guys I appreciate the good answers.
My es300 just turned 100,000 and I plan on putting on another 200.
