ES 250 junkyard find
So last weekend I was out at the junkyard looking for parts for my Ls 400, when I stumbled across something I hadn't seen in a damn long time, two of them actually. 2 1990 ES 250s. Obscure and pretty rare these days around these parts, fwd boxy underpowered and extremely dated, probubly the most un-Lexus'ish of all models, oh and it seems like the rust gets them pretty bad. But I always kinda thought the old early ES were kinda cool in a strange way, cause you never see them anymore and they had some intresting styling cues that no other Lexus ever had, always kinda wanted one if I could find one cheap I'd probubly get it. Anyone hear have one?

Sorry for all the extra posts but I can only do one pic at a time thanks to my stupid iPhone.. Anyways it's uncommon to see one ES 250 anyware but I was shocked to find another one a few rows down. A gold one that the rust got. Looks like they were trying to save this one cause the trunk lid had been replaced. Seems like a common problem with these is that the trunk rots out and bows.

This one had leather seats and wood in it. Looks like it was a pretty nice ride in its day, time wasn't good to it though. The Florida sun is just brutal on these interiors, it's a constant fight to keep my 95 Ls 400 from cracking

This one made it to 188k. How bout the 140mph speedo? Can they do it? Always been curious about these somewhat forgotton early ES 250s, what are they like on the road?

man, what kind of junkyard has palm trees in their yard?
Just think about it, those hideous things were once a top of the line car to have back in the day.
Imagine this thing out of the factory new? You were the $h1t for owning one of these.
I actually see quite a few of these on the road still.
They kinda remind me of an old maxima.

I bet one with a Manuel tranny would be fun to drive! Didnt know that was even an option on these. Like I said, I'm a LS guy but I've always kinda liked the old ES with there frameless glass in the doors and other styling cues that other models didnt have. You really think I should go back and grab the grills and embelems? Those hard to find? I considered getting a ES 300 once and really liked the car, the only thing that scared me away is that there FWD and FWD kinda freaks me out. So the ES 250 really was nothing more than a glorified Toyota Camry? No wonder they weren't huge sellers.. Still kinda cool cars that well for the most part.. Everyone kinda forgot about.

Emblems like that usually vanish as soon as cars are on the lot at PnP places. If you get a chance and they are cheap, ya I'd take them.
News flash: EVERY ES is a glorified Camry. And unless I'm mistaken, they are the sales leader.

Is this at a http://www.pullapart.com/ ??
There's one of these a couple hours from where I live and they almost always have a 3VZ-FE I can pull parts from, so it's actually kind of surprising I don't have mine running like I want it to.
Love that place though. Never know what you'll find. I once saw someone bring in a Geo Tracker to sell to the yard and the only thing wrong with it was a leaky gas tank... some people.
