How man mpgs are you getting in your es300? Are you mostly city or highway? What's your percentage of each driving with mpgs and fuel grade?

I just wanted to see where people were at as of now I couldn't get over 28 until it warmed up. You're right I just thought it'd be a good community thread to start .

I do aswell, meticulously maintained with everything possible kept top notch short of pulling out the engine etc. And I only get 16-20mpg on very slow and light city driving. Highway driving I do ALOT better, but nowhere near 28. Think yourself lucky dude!

I have a 97 ES300 with +280k miles. On a summer day, with AC off, driving on hwy no more than 65 mph, I get 30mpg.
Edited.....I am on 87 octane

The highest I ever recorded was last summer. 27.5 with 80% highway 20% rural driving, on regular gas. This is all with everything in great shape, except maybe for the choice of tires.
During the colder weather, on winter tires and with winter gas, my average dropped to 24. I just recently switched to Premium and was able to get almost 26mpg, two times in a row. I will be switching to high performance summer tires soon, so I will continue my quest for the highest possible MPG. Although my guess is that I would need low resistance all seasons.

^Thats how I feel. During summer when I was doing like 75% hwy I would get around 25mpg but lately I've been having to drive through traffic 4 times a week and I'm barely able to get 20.5mpg.

Sounds right keep in mind those mileages I get when I'm riding out on the interstate at 65 exactly just riding with all windows closed on a cool night with the blower on A/C it self off. Now when I DRIVE my car on the interstate one or two WOT in passing gear A/C on running 80 at times I get between 22 and 27.

On the particular drive that I averaged 32, was driving a constant 50 mph. Lose a little speed going up hills, but constant throttle, gain speed coming down the hill.
I can get above 28 mpg, If I drive like a sane person. Mind you, I don't do this very often. I'm generally redlining from light to light, but once in awhile it's fun to see how many miles per gallon I can squeeze out of the ES.
The best advice I can give is use constant throttle, and if that means losing speed going up an incline, so be it. You will regain that speed on the downside. Using the instant mpg readout helps a lot, it lets you know how much load is on the engine and you can adjust your throttle that way. Cruise control really isn't good for mpg, because CC tries to achieve constant speed, not constant load/throttle. So, it's useless when driving in hilly terrain, as it will just waste gas downshifting and revving up to keep a constant speed going up the hill.
I occasionally use CC when on flat land and on long road trips, because if I don't I find myself going 90+. LOL
