Default Sudden Malfuction!

My wife's 2006 ES330 suddenly stopped working. Around 1:30 PM today, she called me and said that the engine sounded louder, but that she didn't feel anything abnormal while driving. Now (5:50 PM), she called me and said that after dashboard gauges and indicators blinked, the car just stopped. She can't start the engine.

What's going on?

Yesterday I had a service center change the engine oil and filter. Is it possible that something was screwed up at the center?

She also heard high-pitched noise coming from the engine compartment.

That doesn't mean that oil is still there, there are many instances when quicky-lube places forgot to tighten oil pan bolt and all the oil leaked out.

Last time I went to an popular national oil and lube retailer for my 07' RXh, which I won't mention, I ended up days later with a 1200$ Hybrid system failure that Lexus thankfully repaired under warranty. They did write in the report that there was evidence of "tampering of the fluids" but they didn't give me a hard time. Never again. I service my vehicle at Toyota or Lexus now.
