Remote Problem

Exclamation Remote Problem

Hi everyone,
I recently suffer with the remote problem for my car.
My car is 97 es, with this remote


The remote stopped working for a month already, I tried to change the battery, but it still won't work...

When I use the key to lock the car, the Red light (security alarm light) in my car is still flashing.

I am wondering if it is the remote problem or the security system..

How to check which one have problem?

I found that it is very inconvenient to use key to unlock instead of the remote (especially @ school with HUGH parking lot & bad memories)

Too bad that some one broke into my car couple days ago,,, so i decided to treat my car better with not using the key to unlock

Please help

Take the remote to a Lexus or Toyota dealer. The parts department can tell you if the remote itself is working or not.

You need a new remote. On your remote is has a "FCC ID" followed by a bunch of numbers. Type the numbers into ebay and many remotes will pop up.

With a new remote you should be able to program it yourself, if not the dealer will do it for a small charge or a car electronics shop will do it for a small charge.

What if there is no Lexus dealer around?
How could i determine if it is the remote's problem?

There's no Toyota dealer either?? If not (where do you live that there is no Toyota dealer??) then as a last resort if you go to Pepboys they have a setup for checking if the remote is putting out a signal. Try that.

i tried re-programme my remote, and it worked right now..;
probably the remote might failure i.. but re-programme , works again.
Yeah! saved $50

thanks for helping me guys, i probably will get another remote for my sister.
