Brought home a 2002 ES300 yesterday!
Hey guys, I finally brought home a 2002 ES300. It's in perfect condition, it's silver. It has 173k miles on it, but it runs like brand new, extremely smooth.
It only has one flaw, the rear passenger side window doesn't go down. The dealership (Lexus of Bridgewater), lowered the price of the car for me in order to make up for that. The window not working doesn't really affect me, especially since it's one of the rear windows. I'm not going to fix it, as I likely won't ever open that window even if it worked.
It's a one owner, and no accidents according to the Carfax. It was serviced at Lexus it's entire life. So, I have the full service history from delivery at 3 miles to 173k miles. Which is great, I know for a fact that this car was taken car of well.
It has HID's, auto rain sensing wipers, etc. It's only missing the navigation, and the rear sun shade. I paid a really great price, out the door with dealer fee's, and nj taxes, I paid about $6850. Not bad at all, especially considering this car was originally listed for $6500, but they lowered the price once I told them about the rear window not working. I'm very satisfied with my purchase, I hope it run's well for at least another 5 years with minimal maintenance/repairs. I'm sure it will, it's a Toyota!
I'm going to try configuring the homelink sometime this week, I looked at the instructions in the manual on how to do that. So I should be fine, but If I need help, I'll ask!
I'm trying to decide what type of iPod integration kit I should install. Any one have suggestions? Preferably the cheapest solution, aside from the tape adapter, which I'm using temporarily.
I may be going to Michigan and Chicago this weekend, so I have to decide what car to take the "new" ES or the RX. LOL, Hard choice.
I'll put up some pictures in the album later this week, but here's one teaser picture that I took off the ad for the car.

A solution to the fairly common problem of 4ES's windows not working is to hold the window switch for the respective door either up or down as your firmly close the door. I can personally tell you this does indeed fix it.

Did you mean to say that you paid $5850? The car looks great.
Try the master window switch and the rear door switch. Does the window make any noise?
edit: I browsed the ad on their site and came across this image.
No idea what BEAGKA stands for, but it sounds like somebody saying "big car" with an Asian accent.
p.s.: Looks like your car turned 10, last month.

Seriously though, congrats. I LOVE my 4ES aside from its sometimes jerky/indecisive shifting 5 speed automatic. I've got 113k, drive it almost 75 miles a day 5-6 days a week and it gets 25mpg....still runs like new, looks like new and rides like new. These cars are tough as nails if you maintain them.

I tried both switches, still no go. It makes a click sound and then that's it. I tried shutting the door a few times while holding the switch but it doesn't work.

Well this ES already has the TSB for the ECU done. And, as of now, the shifts are amazing, very smooth! The ride is great too, it just absorbs any imperfections in the road. The suspension is top notch even at 173k miles.
