Oil pan leak question
This is my first post here on the forum. Thank you to anyone who helps me. I have a 2000 ES300 with 120,000 miles that was leaking oil on the ground. I took it to a shop and they advised me to replace two gaskets on the engine. It had to be done because I could see The oil seeping out all over the engine. So they did that service and I took the car home. However, there is still oil dripping onto the ground. I went underneath the car and I can see that it looks like it's coming from the bottom oil pan. I don't know enough to fix this myself, and I certainly can't get the car up off the ground so I can reach underneath and do it. So, how much should the repair shop charge me to fix this oil pan leak?

the oil pan leak could be coming down from above the pan also. if you just paid to get this fixed and it is not, take it back in and *****. what 2 gaskets did they replace? has the PCV been done ever?

I agree with pauloil's posting above. I battled oil leaks on our 94 ES for at least 10-12 years of the 21 years we owned the car. It seemed to me that most of the leaks resulted in drips from the rear of the oil pan even though the cause of the leak was higher up on the engine. I suspect that the design of the engine and the slope from front to rear is what causes this situation.
The most difficult oil leak involved an exhaust camshaft seal. This leak was far removed from the oil pan, but that's where the drips appeared. The high pressure power steering hose also leaked in the general area of the oil pan. There was so much oil leaking in that area that it was impossible to identify that particular leak as PS fluid (Dexron) instead of oil.
It seemed to me that the only leak that did not drip down from the oil pan was the rear main seal.
