Default New Paint Job:

Now that I have the original pics covered, I already got her a fresh coat of paint and removed the peeling rear windshield tint. Here are pics of how she is now:

New Paint job looks good, how much did you pay for it if you dont mind me asking? I am thinking about getting a new car, but all these people are coming on here buying 97's and older car's then i have and make me reconsider.

It looks a bit odd with the bottom trim in the same color, it's as if it's naked. I'm glad you got it fixed though. A simple coat of wax once a year would have protected the clear coat from peeling like it did.

I got it done at Maaco for about $1400, however it wasn't the best job ever. No one can really tell when looking at it normally, but if you get up close, behind the side mirrors the finish is terrible, it is warped and dripped onto the black seal near the window. Also, the guy forgot to add the pinstripe and added a vinyl 3 hours prior to delivery. That being said, it was much cheaper than any other quote I got in town, and, well, you get what you pay for.

Yeah, I didn't really realize that it would look that way when I envisioned it in my head. I also wanted it to be more of a gray-ish silver than a cream-ish silver, but I'm still satisfied with the job for the price. And I also wish the previous owner would have maintained her well too, would have saved me a paint job!

Hmm usually i heard prettty terrible things about Maaco paint jobs, thats why im glad my car has oem paint. I know its a bit to late, but was there a was for you to just have the areas that needed work to get painted? Or was it bad all over. Regardless, it still looks clean

Looks like a clean, well done paint job! It does look naked from what MrBooby said, but it probably just takes getting used to.. what's next for your car?

Thanks, the previous owner did a pretty bad job maintaining her because the clear coat was gone on the roof, around the sides, on the hood and trunk. I figured instead of just patching up those areas I might as well paint the entire body.

I'm dropping in a GPS right now, hopefully will have pics by the end of the day! Other than that, I want to drop her a couple inches, get some great concave wheels, tint all around, get some HIDs and headlight and taillight covers. After those cosmetic mods, I'm going to start working on performance. But that'll all be in time, almost ran through my budget so I'll have to start saving up again!

From the pics, it doesn't look bad. It's your first car, it's not supposed to be perfect!

Welcome to the site BTW

very nice set up and love the navigation head unit in place of the OEM unit.

Ive seen Maaco paint jobs on this model ES and yours is better than most IMHO.
