RPM Surge when put in reverse. 93 es300
I just replaced the transaxle on my 93 es 300 and it surges a little when I place it in reverse. There is a cable that comes from the tranny to the accelerator cable that may have something to do with it or could it be a vacuum leak problem. I plan to replace all my vacuum hoses soon. Also, what are the effects of bad o-rings on your fuel injectors. I took my injectors out and cleaned them and the book says to replace o-rings. Thanks

Most likely your problem is related to a cracked or split Intake hose. That's the large accordion style hose that connects from the Air Filter box back toward the intake manifold. (You may have 2 Hoses. I can't remember on your specific year)
When you put the car in reverse, the engine shifts just enough to allow the crack to open up. This allows more air into the system, which messes with the sensors causing the surge that you describe.
When the car is in Park, or drive the geometry of the engine is such that the crack remains closed, so no surging.
I suggest that you remove that hose and have a careful look for any obvious, or non obvious, cracks or splits. You may have to bend the hose a bit to make the crack or split more obvious.
A temporary fix is to wrap electrical tape tightly around the spit. A permanent fix is to replace that hose.

If there is a crack on the intake side you will have rough idle at all condition. The reason why is because the air leak is after the MAF sensor so it can't detect the extra air that is coming in, which would cause a lean condition and the car will idle poorly. The hose that connects to the intake is called a PCV.

Thanks guys, I'll look at it closely. I had the hose off, washed it in soap and water and inspected it for cracks but didn't notice anything. I'll definitely take a closer look.
