Help Me Please: Wont start
I recently spent $420 to have my fuel pressure regulator replaced and the car died on me fresh from the car shop. First the red oil light came on and the car refused to accelerate. Then it overheated on me and now it refuses to start. I checked the battery and its perfect whatever the cause its not the battery. I did replace before the fpr the wires, coils, plugs, and catalytic converter. The engine sounded as if the pistons were rubbing together although the oil is full. Someone help me I love my car.

I took it to Christian Brothers Automotive. And when I called them back the ****s offered me no help at all. Told me they just replaced the fuel pressure regulator so they have nothing to do with it cutting off and overheating. Its got 289000. But I just dont want to junk my car after spending so much on her. I pretty much have replaced everything on the engine except the headers and pistons.

If all they did was replace the FPR then they likely had nothing to do with what's happening now unless it can be traced back to fuel. Your description makes it sound like you lost oil pressure. If you cannot find another reason then you'll have to drop the oil pan and examine the oil pump pickup and residue in pan.

Ok but starting?
Ok but my question is whats preventing the car from starting? Surly its not oil pressure right? I noticed since its been sitting for a couple days there is a leak thats under there. I turn the key and it just ticks as if the starter or battery has gone bad. I know thats not the case since it died on me while going 65 on the highway. It hasnt cranked since then.

You were going 65mph, the red oil light came on, then no acceleration and overheating, then it "died", "The engine sounded as if the pistons were rubbing together although the oil is full". It now, and/or then, just "ticks" and won't crank? Correct? Can you get a socket on the crank pulley and turn it? I hate to say it, but it sounds like it may have siezed from oil starvation...
