99' Stuttering problem when accelerating!?!?!
I've had my es300 for almost a year now bought used and it's always had a "stuttering" problem when accelerating. It's mostly when the engine is cold BUT sometimes does it when it's been running for a while. I've never mashed it to the floor until the other day out of curiosity. It just cut out until i took my foot off the gas. I've done research and am thinking it's the MAF. Any suggestions would be awesome. THanks

A few years ago, I have a similar issue with my car. At first, there was no CEL. A few days later, the CEL would come on pointing to the EGR valve position sensor. I replaced it and it was perfect after. |

Is there a CEL (check engine light)?

Thanks I was debating on trying that. Guess i'll have to give it a go. |
Could be that the previous owner messed up the timing of the engine by not aligning the timing belt correctly.
