94 ES300 Debadging
I need some pics of a 93-96 with the ES300 debadged from the tail light. I did a search and read about the flat surface that the emblem is applied to but haven't had any luck with pics.
Thanks.
Thanks.
When you remove the "ES300" badge it leaves an indention in the plastic underneath. My advice is to just leave the badge there. But if you want it debadged, you can fill in that hole with some bondo, sand it down so it's even with the plastic, and smoke the taillights.
yes, it is "inside" the tail light and will leave a small indentation. I removed mine and cleaned up (glue, pieces of plastic) and from as little as 6-7 feet away, you cannot even tell anything is there and looks great.
If you get a set of 1995/1996 taillights, they're much better anyway and don't have the badge (but you'll need to have some minor custom work done to reposition the keyhole to fit).

You just have to close up the original keyhole and cut a new one about an inch to the right (don't take my word for it, you should actually measure it to be accurate). Not very hard at all if you know how to weld, or you can get a shop to do it.
But the much larger problem is at 0-7' folks will keep saying, "what an idiot - that car looks awful".
Sorry - shouldn't have done it.

Just my $0.02 - which aint worth a whole lot. The problem is you are trying to have a look like those German cars. They apply the badges with stickers right on the paint and when you debadge them, they look very clean. The problem is, Lexus didn't do that. They chose a cheap way out.
Sad.
