First i want to say hello to everyone. i have been reading this site for a while..but couldnt join, but now i have this new *used* 96 es 300 coach edition
but when i press on gas pedal first time from cranking it and starting out.. it goes ok.. no noise at all. then i make first stop press on gas pedal again to go and i hear a slight rumbling noise.....ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated...because other than that the car drives like a dream. anyone else have or know of this problem.
welcome. your car problem is really weird because: a)i have never had it myself, nor anyone else's ES that i know of, and b)even with your explanation, it is hard for me to understand what it could possibly be. maybe if you could pinpoint, as 1sicklex said, front, back, wheels area, engine area, is it electrical, is it something else, metal against metal kinda sound, etc. then maybe someone might come up with something. until then!
Thanx for answering...i just got back in from driving it and to tell the thruth...i think its coming from the front then it almost sounds like from the rear...does not sound like metal to metal..sounds almost like an exhaust sound..like loud pipes.....sorry thats the closest i can make out to what it sounds like.....i accelerated and i can hear it but just barely but i can tell its there.. my guess is its coming from the front. like from under the car
hmm. unfortunately i can't pinpoint it. was this ES a certified pre-owned? i dont really think it matters but just asking. since your car is new why don't you go under the hood and have a little formal introduction with your engine parts?? while you're at it, check the big fat air hose in the upper right for any splits or cracks cuz mine broke and a quite a few others here have had to replace theirs also. as for your noise, i am not sure it is a problem. if performance is not compromised, it can't be that bad, ay? let us know if you figure out what it is though.
