clicking sound in dash
My 2004 ES330 has developed a sound, like a clicking or tapping, similar to the sound of a turn signal, but seems to be emanating from the glovebox area. It is intermittent and irregular, not constant. Has no apparent connection to speed of the car, braking, or the heat/ac system. I just wonder if it is something I should be concerned about or have checked.

Wow, what timing.
I just noticed a clicking noise today and decided to do a search and came across this post. My noise seems to be coming from right in front of the driver position though, and not from the glove box. It sounds a lot like the turn signal too though.

try to play with your blend door position (A/C). there is doors behined your dash that control face and feet...defrost..face only ect. i see in my shop all the time. they start clicking when they start to get stuck half way through there transition. just a thought could be wrong

I know this is an old thread . . . but I have the same issue on my recently acquired 2004 ES330.
It sounds like a tape is stuck in the tape drive . . . . click click click.
I'll look at the "blend door".
Thanks.

Any solution found to noise coming out from Glove Box?
I am hearing same clicking and wheel rotating type sound from glove box. Sometime it stops too for few seconds and mostly it is continuous. Is it the servo motor related issue that has been experienced by IS300 and RX owners? Mine is 2004 Lexus ES330.

If it does turn out to be your servo motors, here's a great DIY thread that helped me repair all of mine:

2004 es330
Same noise coming from our car. Someone told us it had to do with rear power window (relay?). Ours starts/stops periodically, and does happen after we turn the car off. Has also drained our battery (we use it as our 3rd vehicle as it was handed down to us). It does not speed up/down with AC or heat, and will sound without air on. Still looking into it.

99 Lexus ES300 with a clicking noise when engine is turned off
My issue is a clicking noise on my 99 Lexus ES300 when engine is turned off. It appears that it has something to do with the electronic ignition according to the mechanic because that part of the fuse where it is located makes a noise. It turns off as soon as I put the KEY into the ignition. I thought I could resolve it by replacing the ignition switch with a new one. It still makes the noise only when the engine is turned off. I have a video of it, but I don't know how to load it on this website. It clicks continuously under the Relay & Fuse box next to the battery. I took it to the dealer and they could not help me. Any direction or guidance is appreciated.

I do not hear it when the engine is turned on. It also doesn't run down the battery-yet, but I am afraid it will do so. If I pull the key out of the ignition, then it starts up again.
