Default Windshield washer fluid warning light

The low fluid warning light on my 1998 ES300 has been flickering on and off at a low level of intensity. The fluid level is high. Anyone have any idea as to the cause?

Do you know if there is a way to test the sensor? After driving a while yesterday the light stayed on.

INSPECT WASHER LEVEL WARNING SWITCH

Check that no continuity exists between terminals with the switch OFF (float up).
Check that continuity exists between terminals with the switch ON (float down). If operation is not as specified, replace the switch.
INSPECT WINDOW WASHER LEVEL WARNING SWITCH CIRCUIT

Disconnect the switch connector and inspect the connector on wire harness side.
If continuity is not as specified, inspect the wire harness or ground point

Thanks JSM1284. I tested the switch and the circuit and believe the switch is bad. I am trying to remove the switch to bench test it but do not know how. Does it unscrew or just pull out.

well with a little help from a Lexus parts department I learned the switch pulls straight out. The float mechanism had become separated from the switch. I am attempting to repair the sensor by bonding the plastic tube that covers the electronic part back onto the housing. I can get a new switch from a local Toyta dealer for $49.93. Lexus wanted $67.55.
