I actually went the first route.painting the emblems, but they do not have the jewel-like clarity of genuine emblems.

The gunmetal spray is a semi transparent clear coat.
I thought you already chromed your grille?
This gunmetal spray won't look good over real chrome either..just makes it milky looking and has a semi gloss sheen.
-Yes they are genuine, Emblems were offered as part of the coach edition package, or separately in 00-01

Ohh, i see. And yeah I did... After about 3 weeks the clear coat started cracking from UV damage im suspecting. Within a week and a half, the cracks had made their way through the top coat. Ditched the wrecked grill for a brand new 95 grill, and then for the sake of looks ripped off the tacky chrome trim around the car.
