Default Quick check and easy fix

Blinking AC light? Swap the horn relay with the AC clutch relay to identify the culprit. Then try banging the old relay a few times with a screwdriver head. When you reinstall it, it may start to work again as it did for me.

This video shows what to do:

Default June, 2016 Update Blinking A/C Light

The A/C light started blinking on our 2003 Lexus ES300. Car has 75K miles on it. Today (6-30-16) we purchased a Magnetic Clutch Relay replacement part from our local AutoZone. Took the original Toyota/Lexus part with us (as mentioned, it's located in Fuse Box under hood - ours is white). Just wanted to be sure AutoZone sold us right part. The part purchased has a lifetime warranty and the mfg./part # for the relay is Duralast 20382. Cost was $16.99 + $1.40 tax for a total of $18.39. A/C is ice cold, runs perfectly, and no more blinking light! Highly recommend you try this method first before having any expensive A/C repairs. DO NOT buy the part from a dealer - it's way more expensive. Good luck!

This is a common problem with 02-04 ES300 and a lot of Camry, 4Runners etc and there is a Technical Service Bulletin out for it.

New relay is ~$50 online or $75 from a Toyota dealer.

I guess the AC system has blockage maybe from valve or discharge hose is bad

Default AC Light NOT Blinking - relay?

Hi,

I press the AC button and nothing happens, I don't hear the clutch engage. But the AC Light doesn't blink. It just stays solid green. Can this still be a relay issue? If not what else could this indicate?

I have a 1998 ES300.

Thank you!

Hi I replaced the relay following everything. Now the light stopped blinking but now it blows hot air all the time. Before it used to blow cold air for a few minutes. Is there any DIY fix or should I take it to professionals? and what could be the possible reason for this? Thank you very much.
