so heres the story i think i got something wet under the hood
was nice out went to the car was, washed the car it was clean looked nice was happy, blah blah let it sit in a parking lot for about an hour or two and came back out to leave my friends... so there i started it up it started up wrong i let go and i turned it off. the motor kept running but stalling it was a weird thing i couldnt get my engine to stop so finally i kept turning it on off so i put it in reverse than drove 15-20 feet it stalled out... finally started it up and everything turned back on, all the guage lights and everything worked fine and i turned it on and off and nothing. so anyone have a clue? i was really scared i thought the engine was going to die... any input would be nice
Your Idle Air Control valve is probably completely stuck. Take it off, clean it real good and put it back in and see what happens. Just make sure you use a new gasket.
wouldnt hurt to check ur plugs and **** too. if you never have, dump a bottle of fuel system cleaner into ur tank the next time you fill up. im not saying thats the problem but it wouldnt hurt. i had a grand am that did wat urs did and it was a dirty fuel system
im almost 100% positive something got wet and it burned it up.. i mean it sounds crazy but it seemed like it went into a "saftey mode" to burn up whatever was wet because i took the key completely out and opened my hood and my engine was tryin to run it was like hoping in my engine bay lol it was running hard than tried to drive it and i stalled an than i started it up and everything turned on again. nothin else happened and the engine sounds quiter an if this helps any? my gauge lights were out the whole time except my ebrake light and also the check tail light was on when my car was acting weird
