ok i have a es 300 and i jus founf out that my calitic coverter needs replacing. it seems that the only place to get all 3 is the dealership.
i was told it would cost me $3,000 or more to get it fixed.

does any one have any advice as to where i can get the parts for less? or if i shoul sell it as is.

My entire custom exhaust system (pipe, y-pipe, flex pipe, 2 resonators, catalytic converter, muffler and tips) didn't cost $3000.
Details and pics are here, to help you get a better idea of what you have and what can be done.

Out of pure curiosity, what year is your ES, what's your mileage and what was the symptom that caused you to have it inspected by a mechanic?
