Does anyone know if auto tilt down side mirrors can be fitted onto an 03 ES 300 with the standard non tilting power mirrors?

As far as I know, there is nothing like it that currently exists for the ES. I'm sure there are aftermarket mirror tilt electronic modules available on Ebay that you can check out and see if it can be done on the ES.

Auto tilt-down mirrors definitely exist on the '05-06 ES330 and most likely on the ES350. It sounds like it might be possible but it also sounds like a lot of work that isn't worth it. The wiring is definitely not pre-existant so you'd have to wire it after you locate the mirrors which are probably very expensive. The wiring itself should be a pain since it probably has a different mirror tilt actuator that does the reverse tilt and it would not be plug and play.

A lot of the guys with this feature on the 05-06 models actually do not like it.....lol.

^Back up and see if your mirrors move. A lot of bimmers do it it makes it easyer when parking I think.

My father's ES350 has it . . we hardly use the feature :P

JSM, I'm pretty sure you have the tilt-down in your ES as well. Congrats on finding another hidden feature on your Lexus! lol. This is one thread I can dig up where a ES owner describes this feature. I know there are more because I remember running across them.

Hi JSM - Yes, you do have it! On the left side where you adjust the mirrors, leave the switch in either "L" or "R" instead of in the middle and when you put the car in reverse the side mirros will tilt down so you can see the curb. But I only use when the parking space is really tight and I have to be accurate. Other times it throws me off cause the mirror is pointed on the ground and I really need to see a car, so I only switch it on when I need it. I was really excited when I realized I had that feature.

Hmmm, Very nice. Although last time I drove a BMW M3 with this feature, I hated it.....

Yep. Never had it but it sounds like it can be annoying sometimes.

yea i figured out my lexus did it by accident, but i dont even remember the last time i used it
