Ok since our car came with a factory alarm, I don't want to carry excess remotes on my keychain and I only wanted a remote start, I went with the Hornet 569T. The mediocre on the Directed Electronics lineup (above Valet and below Viper systems). I paid $77 for the unit and 105 to put it in. It took the head tech. 4 hours to install it. The range of this remote start is incredible. I also love the dumbfounded reactions of people when you start the car with audio system on
I also have an extra same remote start unit that I was going to put in my girl's car, but she doesn't want it. PM me with an offer if you want it.

There are one's that comes with remote unlock but whats the point?? our lexus comes with it and you have the carry bigger piece of plasic in your pocket. Plus the price to install an alarm would be around 30-50 dollars more.

ours doesn't have the remote unlock, which is why he wants it so bad. it's a '90 es250... old skool.

install price is not an issue with an ase master tech in the household. nobody touches our cars but us.

98+ use a transponder in the keyhead, so you are incorrect.

lol, yeah the first gen is nice but it doesn't have everything.

it's just got the regular metal key, no immobilizer chip or anything. that's why he wants a remote unlock so badly! 'my' car has smartkey- so going back and forth kinda sucks for him.

True 98+ have transponder keys And I think 97-99 have 2 master keys and 2000+ have 2 masters keys and one valet key. BYPASSKIT makes a good bypass module for the remote start I've had it more than 6 months and there has not been a time that my car didnt start I use codealarm remote start
