When was the last time you changed the tranny fluid?
I just had mine done at 90K service.....I did notice an improvement in shifting.
You may want to try this and see how it is. This cheap solution may solve your problem.

The harder I push the car, yes, I feel the tranny shift. But at normal driving - she is smooooooooth. Never "hunts" for the correct gear to be in either.

So you mean for normal driving, it should be like with a electric engine (only one gear for 'D')?

they're pretty smoothe on the scale of smoothe stock A/T transmissions aslong as the throttle pedal is not held down much.

in order of what i would do:
check / replace atleast the dogbone engine mount (front mount & tranny mount also pretty easy)
piddle with the kick-down cable. they loosen & stretch over the years slightly
change the fluid & check the level hot, idling on a level surface. should read full.

Listen to Phoenix about your motors mounts especially the dog bone mount and front motor mount that might be why u feel those shifts like that.

Or it could be wear and tear on the transmission....
I can feel the gears change from 1st->2nd and its depressing whenever it feels like its going to happen...its like a little nudge
I really need a new tranny right now
