Can anyone share with me the dealer/Lexus, Toyota service, and/or other service repair costs that I can expect when having a timing belt, water pump, drive belts replaced. I have a 2000 ES 300 with around 85K and would like to begin some preventative before anything major happens. Also, would you recommend any additional service outside the normal oil change, brakes, tires, etc. I know the owner's manual has recommendations, but what about the airconditioner, transmission flushes, brake fluids, anti-freeze etc. Love the car and have been sold on Lexus, just curious about how to take care of without spending a fortune or getting ripped off.

 

I think you're looking at 750-800 at a toyota dealership and probably 950-1000 at Lexus for TB, H20 and drive belts. The transmission (very important) and coolant need to be routinely inspected if not serviced. I doubt anything needs to be done with the A/C.

 

Miltonlin, thanks for your feedback. Like I shared, I love the car and would like to drive as long as possible. I haven't changed any of the fluids like brake, transmission, anti-freeze, so maybe could be a good time to do.

The Lexus dealer near us is excellent with attitude and service, but they are just so expensive. I haven't been to a Toyota service, but I might just pick a local service center like Goodyear to work on. Anyhow thanks again.

 

Independent Lexus technicians? yes!

Goodyear/Firestone, etc.? No!

recently (March 2007) I paid $1000 for the TB, WP, accessory belts, and coolant flush/replacement at Lexus of Norwood (MA).

It's not the price of the parts, its the labor time that gets you.

if you want quality for reasonable prices then catch the techs at a lexus dealership when they are heading to lunch...see if anyone of them wants to do it on the side for a reasonable price...if the one you talk to doesn't want to, im sure there is one in the shop that will...when the time comes thats what i will be doing...

Yes, I took a the advice of the op and stayed away from local goodyear, firestone. I ended up the local Toyota service department. They quoted $770.00 plus $205 for rear brakes, which got me out of there under $1000.00. Very happy with the work and fact that they had a shuttle for taking to work nearby.

 

Yea I am coming up on 110K serivce. Dealership in Baton Rouge qouted me 750 + Tax. my TB was done at 88K but i need plugs wire distributor, and full fluid flush fill

 

i just took my lexus to my local dealer and got the rear vavle cover seal, rear timing belt cover, water pump and starter done and was a whopping $2300. i guess the cool thing about it was that they gave me a cool loaner car to drive for a few weeks. an 08 RX350.
