01 ES 300 Check Engine Light / Trac Off
Last night I was driving and my check Engine Light and the Trac Off light came on and would not go off. It sort of freaked me out. I plan to take it in to Lexus but I wonder what is going on ?
My friend did a diagnostic on the Check Engine light and it gave a code indicating an Evaporative Emmision Control ( small Leak). This car only has 55K on it. It does seem to be getting poorer gas mileage but nothing big. Anyone else experience these errors ?
What are the costs of repair ? I do have an extended warranty with Fidelity Direct. I purchased this car used in Aug 05 with 40Kmiles on it. Certified Gold

Try removing and then replacing the gasoline cap until it clicks. Then to reset the dash lights, remove the negative battery cable connection at the battery for a second using a 12mm wrench, then put it right back on. Start the engine and see if the dash lights went off. This has happened to my former 1992 ES and my current 2000 ES. The procedure works every time.

Could be a variety of issues. This happened when my charcoal canister went bad and when my speed sensor on my wheel ripped. Go to Autozone get your codes ran Good luck

engine light Trac off
The engine light and Trac lights have been on for a month. Somtimes the engine light flashes. I re-tightened the gas cap. The mechanic: replaced all 6 spark coils (#trouble code--cylinder 5 missfire), replaced air metering sensor in air intake (after trouble code--multiple cylinders misfired), and replaced 2 of 4? oxigen sensors in exhaust.
Still, the engine/track lights reappear after clearing them. Suggestions?
